Stockfish 18 and its UCI host

The bundled engine is the unmodified full single-threaded Stockfish.js 18 release, with both neural networks. Stockfish is developed by the Stockfish contributors. The engine and host are distributed under the GNU GPL; the host permits GPLv3 or later.

Complete corresponding source

In KnightSight, open Settings → About KnightSight → Export Stockfish source code. This exports the matching engine source, both NNUE networks, build scripts, license texts and the complete UCI host. The archive is included in the app and export works offline. This website does not distribute the proprietary app or its executable.

Chess artwork

The Cburnett chess pieces are by Colin M. L. Burnett and are used under Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 3.0. SVG sources are included in the application assets. Attribution and the license are available in the app's license screen.

Other dependencies

Flutter, Dart packages and native dependencies carry their own notices in About KnightSight → Open-source licenses and credits. The Emscripten runtime is used under the MIT option in its license. Read the additional third-party notices.

KnightSight materials

Original application code, branding and generated sounds are proprietary. That proprietary notice does not replace or restrict the licenses of the components above.
